Welcome to Scotty Paints Workshop
Workshop Policies and Reminders
Please reach us at scottypaints54@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Age Restrictions?
Our classes are designed for young adults aged 16 and above. We do allow as young as age 14, provided that the parent is also a registered artist in the class.
When Should I Arrive?
The shop is typically unlocked 30-45 min before class for setup. Please arrive 10-15 min early to choose seats and settle in.
Please note, since the workshop is taught step by step, we cannot wait for late arrivals. Anyone arriving 10+ minutes after the start time will not be able to paint and will be considered a no-show/no-call and will not be issued a refund.
What Do I Need to Bring/Wear?
You will need paper towels, baby wipes, and an apron to keep yourself and your work station/materials clean. Wear casual clothes that you won't mind if some paint gets on you. If you require an apron, we do have a limited number available to borrow.
I Had Something Unexpected Come Up; Do You Offer Refunds?
Since some of our classes require canvas preparation, our cancellation policies are as follows. Please contact us at (703) 785-9928 if an issue arises.
Cancellations up to 48 hours before the workshop will receive a full refund via Eventbrite to the card used to reserve tickets. Service fees may be non-refundable as per Eventbrite’s Policies.
Cancellations less than 48 hours before will receive future workshop credit. To reserve an available future spot, contact us to be put on the list and have your seat reserved.
Cancellations that are a no-show/no-call situation without calling (not email/messenger, as we will not be checking messages during setup) at least 1 hour before the workshop start time will not receive a refund or credit.
Can I Use My Phone/Take Photos During the Workshop?
You are more than welcome to take photographs of anything in the shop; we do, however, ask that you do not video record.
Please check with other painters before taking their photos or posting their images on social media.
Due to the nature of the class, noise can be a distraction; please silence all devices and take phone calls outside.
What is Your Food/Drink Policy?
We are a BYOB facility; you can bring any food/drink; please remember cups/plates/utensils as needed.
Can a friend come with me to keep me company, but not paint?
Unfortunately, due to space constraints, we are set up for 10 painters per workshop and cannot accommodate non-ticketed attendees.
Allergies
While we try to avoid any exposure to chemicals, the floral painting and wildlife painting methods require a medium that contains Walnut Oil.
If this is an allergen concern for you, please reach out to us before class to determine if an alternate medium will work or if you cannot be in the same room as it for health reasons.
